There are 2 powerful plugins, which will help you take full advantage of all the RSS feed's benefits. Both of them will generate new feeds every time you write a new post and one of them will automatically send those feeds to RSS directories.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Each WordPress blog has one automatically built-in RSS Feed. Proper usage of your blog’s feed is another way of building backlinks, which helps your site get indexed faster, reach more people and enable them to subscribe to your blog. The more people subscribe to your blog the more value your website has for Google.

You can easily find your blog’s RSS Feed by clicking on the yellow (PC) or blue (Mac) sign on the right side of your browser.

Want your Feed to serve you well?

There are 2 powerful plugins, which will help you take full advantage of all the RSS feed’s benefits. Both of them will generate new feeds every time you write a new post and one of them will automatically send those feeds to RSS directories!

Web Traffic Genius

Your feed gets exposure and builds links back to your blog or website, when submitted to various RSS feed directories. Hopefully there are lots of such directories. The only problem is how much time you are willing to spend on such long, manual submission. Personally, I prefer to automate what I do whenever possible and to use my saved time for making strategic decisions, for example.

That’s where Web Traffic Genius Plugin comes into play. It’s a powerful RSS feed generator and submission tool. You can install Web Traffic Genius both on WordPress and non-WordPress sites.

Here are the benefits:

After you install it on WordPress sites, it automatically generates new feeds to each of your published posts and sends them to 20 directories (in some cases, you will need to create your username account, but only at the beginning when you use it for the first time).

After you install it on non-WordPress sites it also automatically sends your feed to the before mentioned RSS directories.

You can create feeds for sites, which don’t have built-in feed.

You automatically build backlinks to your blog or other sites and drive more traffic to it, saving huge amounts of time.

You build a Page Rank of your website.

You can install the software on unlimited numbers of domain names.

It’s compatible with PC, Mac and each operational system.

Drawbacks:

Anthony & Tony Buchalka from the Web Traffic Genius mention sending the feed to 20 directories but currently 2 of them are not working. Fortunately they are working on the solution.

RSS BOMBER

It is another RSS Generator plugin but in this case just a typical WordPress plugin. After you install it, it generates new feeds to each of your published posts.

The benefits are:

Instead of one general RSS feed on your blog, you get a new feed each time, which you can submit to RSS directories.

Whenever you publish a new post, you will receive an email informing you about creating a new feed with link to it.

You can install this plugin on unlimited numbers of your domains.

It’s compatible with PC, Mac and each operational system.

Drawbacks:

This plugin works only with WordPress. As opposed to the Web Traffic Genius software, this plugin doesn’t help in the process of RSS submission – you have to do it manually.

SUMMING UP

Both of the plugins are very useful and powerful. The only question is how much you value your time when it comes down to the nitty-gritty manual feed submission.

RSS is one of the very powerful traffic methods. Don’t make a mistake of neglecting it!

RSS feeds have been around for a long time, however people are just beginning to see how multi-purpose these feeds can be. They help stream information from one website to another, keeping content new. These feeds are easily maintained and just as easy to create. There is lots of software on the market that can assist in the creation of RSS feeds.

After you decide what content you want to either feed into your site or out of your site, you need to determine where to apply it to your website. For those who are using RSS feeds to send information out to other sites, it is important to discern what information you want people to see. Using headlines to capture your article or product is the most straightforward way of producing RSS feeds. You can also add in short captions that will help draw people to your feeds even more. These shouldn’t be too long, but just long enough to capture visitors to click on your feed. Once they click on the feed, they are transported to your website.

If you are adding RSS feeds from other websites, you will need to make your site visitors aware of their existence. Plan to put these feeds some place that is easily accessed and viewed by your site visitors. Also, keep in mind that you add RSS feeds from other websites that is complementary to your own vision and products or services. This will help maintain your visitors’ attention and increase your credibility.

Once you’ve figure out how you want to use RSS feeds, it’s time to promote them. One of the first things you can do is to submit your RSS Feeds to a RSS Feed Directory. In the information age, how do you go about promoting RSS feeds when it seems so many other sites have them? The key is to differentiate yourself from the others. When setting up your feeds initially, you need to code them in html so they are simple for others to add to their website. This will facilitate other websites picking up your RSS feeds.

Now that you’ve figured out what content you want to syndicate, it’s time to promote them through RSS feeds search engines. As RSS has gained in popularity, so has the use of search engines geared specifically at housing all these feeds. It’s important to market your feeds through these search engines in order to get them noticed. Your RSS feeds need to be submitted to feed search engines so they are aware they exist. They generally offer a straightforward submission form on their website and it can be done for free. Many well-known search engines can pick up your feed, such as Google® and Yahoo!®. As well, these sites offer RSS feed advertising, giving you the opportunity to have constantly dynamic sales pitches through the Internet. This can be helpful in markets such as real estate and temporary staffing, where you can advertise items that have a short deadline.

There are also RSS aggregators and newsreaders, which disseminate information from RSS feeds and sends it to subscribers who have opted to receive certain information. People can sign-up to receive streaming information that is relevant to their life, whether personal or business. Together, these two items will help promote your RSS feeds and subsequently direct people to your website for further information, thereby increasing traffic to your site.

RssFeedDirectory.org gives you the maximum exposure for your RSS Feed. We are the premeire RSS Feed Submission service on the internet, helping your website get the extra exposure and traffic you need. Submit your RSS feed to our RSS Feed Directory today.

If you really want your blog to become profitable, you'll need to increase your RSS subscribers. Here are 7 tricks to increase your RSS subscribers and start the money rolling.

Every blog needs readers to remain profitable. You need people laying eyes on your blog to make sales. Many bloggers are overlooking a very important component in becoming profitable. RSS subscribers. Learning how to increase your RSS subscribers is a skill that every blogger needs to learn.

It’s no secret that a lot of blog readers prefer to read your blog through RSS. These readers may never see your blog but crafty bloggers know how to make RSS subscribers come to their blog. So don’t ignore RSS subscribers, they can be the difference between a profitable blog and a ho-hum blog.

Here are 7 tricks to increase your RSS subscribers.

Start a contest for RSS Subscribers only. Many bloggers have used this technique very successfully. People will want to take part in the contest and sign up so they can participate.

Publish RSS Subscriber only post. Other bloggers have used the this baiting technique to get people to sign up to their RSS feeds. All you do is every once in a while, publish a list or a list of tips only to your RSS subscribers. Make sure you post about these “special tips” to your regular readers on your blog. This will make them sign up so they don’t miss out on the special tips.

Submit your RSS feed to RSS directories. There are many RSS directories out there. You need to submit your RSS feed to each of them. To find them, just go to Google and type in ‘list of RSS directories’. It will be time consuming, but well worth it!

Use those RSS Subscription icons. Yes, they do help! These icons make it very easy for readers to your blog to sign up under their favorite RSS reader. If you make your readers work to get signed up to your RSS feed, many won’t go to the trouble.

Publish your feed count. If you have over one hundred RSS subscribers, show the feed count. Other bloggers seeing that other people have signed up to your feed feel that they should also. It’s a funny thing, the more RSS subscribers you have, the easier it is to get them.

Use FeedBurner and sign up email subscribers. I use FeedBurner so that my readers can sign up with their email. Some just prefer to read the post in their email, so I make it easy for them. It only takes a second to put a sign up form on your blog.

RSS Bomber Explained

Internet You can exploit of little known tactic to increase traffic and jump up a few search directory positions. This technique is currently available using a paid WordPress plugin. In as little a few minutes, you can utilize this RSS secret to grab one more position in your search results. You can do this without adding more content or building more backlinks.

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is commonly used to syndicate your blog or website content to your readers and previous buyers. But, you can also use your RSS Feed to steal more rankings in the search engine results. There are a ton of RSS Directories and RSS Aggregators out there to which you can submit your RSS feeds, and the best part is that the search directories adore them.

Mostpeople waste time getting loads of worthless backlinks of almost no value when you can be spending little if any time stealing super powered backlinks, which help boost your position in the search engines. When you have optimized your blog posts, headlines, backlinks and URLs, you have topped out the opportunities. You can still build other web sites, article submissions, and web 2.0 properties (to include Squidoo lenses, HubPages etc.), and this method does work quite well. But, creating those extra sites and web 2.0 pages all take time and effort.

Or, you can use the material you’ve already created. Google and the other search directories will rank it without giving you a big, fat duplicate content slap?

On a WordPress blog you get two RSS feeds, one feed is for the site posts and the second feed is for the blog comments. If you submit your main domain content feed to the RSS Directories and Aggregators, Google, Bing and Yahoo will index the feed and give you another spot in the search directory results. But using the RSS Bomber, you can submit your RSS feed to additional RSS Directories and Aggregators. The search engines will give you a distinct listing for every one of the directories and aggregators you’ve submitted to.

Can you imagine just how powerful this can be?

If you think this sounds way too technical then read on – all you need to be able to do is paste a URL into a box.

The most common definition for RSS is Really Simple Syndication, and you provide an RSS Feed on your blog.

To explain this more easily think of the following:

Subscribe To RSS

You have a blog and you want to get increased website traffic to it. On most blogs there’s a “subscribe to RSS” icon.

This provides an RSS Feed which means the contents of your site are translated into a common format that can be read by other programs known as RSS Aggregators or RSS Readers.

Someone who wants to be provided with updates to your blog, clicks on the “subscribe to RSS” icon and your RSS Feed is sent to their web browser.

On their web browser they now have a button in the toolbar known as an RSS Reader, that lists the headlines of your blog posts, a bit like the favourites or bookmark menus in browsers. Not only that, but when you update your blog, this list in their browser is updated also. They can then click one of your headlines and go straight to your website.

Benefits To You

There are two benefits for you here.

o Someone has taken an interest in your website and you will get increased website traffic.

o You now have back links for each one of your articles that appear in their RSS reader and back links are solid gold for search engine rankings!

Let’s take this one step further. Instead of someone having to go directly to your site and click on the subscribe to RSS link, what if they could just go to a directory that has a list of RSS Feeds and pick your site from that?

Feedburner

That’s where submitting your RSS Feed to a Feed Directory comes in. The easiest way to do this is to type “google feedburner” into Google and go to the feedburner site. Feedburner creates an RSS Feed that is compatible with thousands of RSS Readers and Aggregators.

You just need to create an account there, and then enter the URL for your blog and it will create an RSS feed for you. The RSS feed is just a URL like any other website, but is unique to your website.

RSS Directories

Now do another search in Google for “RSS Directories List”. This will give you lists of hundreds of RSS Directories. All you need to do is go and paste the URL from feedburner into each of the directories you want to appear in and you’re done.

You get increased website traffic to your blog because people who haven’t even heard of you go to RSS directories and can subscribe to your blog. Also, back links are the key to getting increased search engine rankings and each RSS Directory you’re listed in provides a back link to your website.

RSS Feeds Demystified

In order to use RSS (Really Simple Syndication) need an RSS feed. You can think of an RSS feed as a description of one or more pages on one or more websites in a standard format that can be read by millions of programs on the internet. Many websites now have an RSS technology built in. One such popular platform is WordPress. Every time the website is updated and the page published, an RSS feed is created or updated on the websites. Static sites that don’t have RSS feeds can install an RSS script to produce RSS feeds for your website.

These days exciting new software are being launched to leverage the power of RSS to get the word out about your website to allow visitors to find your website. Entire websites are being developed and launched as RSS aggregators which are websites dedicated to serving you with content from other websites and being aggregators they use RSS technology they are set up and want you to submit your content to their sites. Google themselves are investing heavily into RSS starting with their feedburner.

If you have articles, blogs or videos on your website you could be missing out on tons of traffic if you don’t have an RSS feed. The internet is hungry for fresh content. When you submit your RSS feed to RSS submission sites they will be automatically pinged when you update your blogs or website content. You can take one piece of content and upload it to 10 different websites. Now this one piece of content is equivalent to 10 pieces of content and you can share these 10 different RSS links with different RSS submission sites and maximise the traffic that you have on the internet.

Driving traffic to your blog or website

The simplest way to get traffic with RSS is to use a blog on your website, preferably a wordpress blog. Each time you update your blog with a new post, an RSS feed will provide readers with a taste of your content and a link to your blog where they can read the entire content. This is one way of getting more visitors to your blog. Ideally your blog should be hosted on your website, so that visitors to your blog can visit other pages on your site and learn about products and services you offer.

While there may well be internet users who like what you post on your blog or website, they have better things to do than visit your website every day to see if you have posted anything new. These readers would normally subscribe to your RSS feed and automatically receive an email update alerting them each time you update your blog or website with content. A subscriber also has the option of adding a script to his or her blog so that visitors to that subscribers blog will also be able to read your blog. Readers who have content related to your subject will flock to your blog or website to check out the content thereby creating a viral effect.

Content submission to other sites

While adding fresh content to your own website or blog is a great traffic strategy, another equally effective strategy is to seek out blogging sites with a high rank that are related to your market and post on these sites. By piggybacking on these high traffic websites, you can gain excellent short term exposure and with quality posts create recognition for yourself as an expert in your niche. Once this is achieved you will get a flood of visitors to your site who will then subscribe to your RSS feeds.

Using RSS with your autoresponder

An increasingly common problem that many online marketers face is that their autoresponder emails often go unopened. A little known strategy to overcome this challenge is to send the autoresponder emails to an RSS feed instead of a group of unlikely action takers. Subscribers of RSS feeds will be more responsive to the information provided, since they are actively looking for the information that you are providing. They are most unlikely to ignore messages that are delivered as a part of feeds they have subscribed to compared to mail delivered to their junk mail folder.

To ensure the success of your RSS traffic generation strategy, you should provide quality content to attract your subscribers and avoid losing existing subscribers and gaining new ones. Webmasters should also remember to encourage visitors to subscribe to RSS feeds by having a dedicated area on the website for inviting people to subscribe

RSS has been around for awhile, yet many bloggers are still not taking full advantage of this important resource. So if you aren’t utilizing it, here’s some information about RSS and a few RSS tips as well.

About RSS

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. And it is indeed, really simple to set up and use.

Become an RSS Publisher

As a blogger you can use RSS feeds to get subscribers who are interested in your content. You don’t have to be concerned with sending out emails and then wondering if they were filtered out as spam or having to deal with overcrowded in boxes.

By publishing your own RSS feeds and using the right keywords, you will attract more interest from the search engines – which is always a good thing, since it will lead to more organic traffic. There are also RSS directories which will help get your feeds out to many people who are wary to give out their email addresses.

It will help you to get your content published on other websites as well as allowing you to offer more quality content on your site. Nobody can keep up to date with the amount of information available and by offering good information that your readers can use, even though you didn’t create it, helps to create reader loyalty.

Subscribing to RSS

As a subscriber, I don’t have to be concerned about email viruses. The content is delivered directly to my desktop or browser. It is information I am interested in, and I can easily unsubscribe at any time. I don’t have to worry about being spammed, because my email address is not given put to the site I am subscribing to. I can get the exact information I am interested in without having to scan through numerous articles.

One good place to check out RSS feed sources is: http://www.bloglines.com/. It is free to register.

RSS Tips

1. You can get started for free. If you are a blogger start using it right now and start publishing. Sign up for Google’s ‘Feedburner’. Alternatively, just do a search for RSS. There are several other reputable companies that offer free RSS services as well as some service that offer little extras you can pay for as well.

2. Make it easy for people to easily find your RSS feeds. It is usually an orange RSS button/subscriber link. Some sites make you search for their RSS feeds, and so many people don’t even bother.

3. Consider using RSS to publish and send your audio files, applications and product information. Use as many mediums as you can to increase the awareness of your ‘brand’.

4. Write down the title, description, link and keywords for each of your feeds and submit them to the relevant RSS directories. If your information is about internet marketing don’t submit your RSS feeds to Children’s directories. Here is a source for you to check out: http://masternewmedia.org/rss/top55/.

5. Make sure to ping the exact URL of your updated content. This lets other directories know that new information is available and they will list it.

6. Create a RSS page for your readers to let them know the value of receiving your RSS feeds

7. Offer several different feeds for specific information. For example some of your readers may be more interested in AdSense than AdWords. So instead of forcing them to look through your whole feed, break it down into categories and make it easy for them.

There is a lot of RSS information out there, and hopefully this will pique your interest and encourage you to look a little further and learn more about RSS. And get started using those RSS tips right away to reap the benefits and get more search engine love.

Okay, so maybe you have heard about submitting your RSS feed to RSS submission sites; but thought, “What’s the point?” Well, I hope to discuss some of the issues surrounding this topic and hopefully provide a few answers.

First of all, your RSS feed is updated automatically, every time your website is updated. This article is not about how to set up an RSS feed, so hopefully you have that already done for your site. The fact that it is automatically updated is the key to everything. So, essentially when you get your feed listed on another site, this site provides a backlink to each of your articles posted!

If you Google, “list of RSS Submission sites” or something similar, you should be able to find a nice list of sites that will allow you to submit your feed to. Once you have gone through and done this once, you should never have to do it again. So, there are lots of paid services out there that will submit your site automatically to dozens of RSS sites; it may not be worth it. If you take the time to do it for yourself once; these feeds will be updated automatically every time you update your own site.

What I like to do to provide some extra value to these submissions is to socially bookmark the feeds as well. So, lets say you submit your feed to feedest.com. The link where your feed is listed will be something like feedest.com/yourfeed. You will take this URL feedest.com/yourfeed and submit it to as many social bookmarking sites as you can. This will ensure that your feed submissions are indexed by Google and will provide higher link value to your site.

These will indeed provide some SEO value to your site. Will it bring hoards of traffic? Probably not. But it will create an environment that is more likely to get your site indexed, linked to, and more likely to do better in the search engines.

So, RSS submissions are not a fix all wonder for SEO; it does provide some value, so is worth spending the time doing.
